NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SPORT MEDICINE PERSONAL TRAINER AND NUTRITION COACH
Nationally accredited personal training program in which certified personal trainers utilize the evidence-based Optimum Performance Training™ Model in order to help clients reach their goals. Likewise, NASM uses the same approach to train Nutrition Coaches in guiding clients in healthy behaviors. Combined, the knowledge of a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach can enhance anyone's fitness journey.
UCLA CLUB SPORTS POWERLIFTING
Trained as a powerlifting athlete and then competed collegiately, won gold for the 57kg female group during a local meet. Training included 10 week blocks and 3 hours workouts 4 days a week. As a club athletes were focused on form and preventing injury during heavy lifts.
ATHLETIC TRAINING STUDENT AID
Assisted the Club Sports Athletic Trainer in the clinic with SOAP notes, modalities, and rehabilitation. Utilized athletic tape, regulated cryotherapy processes, administered first aid, and acted as first responder during game days and tournaments. Worked with athletes on their return to play rehabilitation and exercises.
STEVEN TISCH BRAINSPORT
Assisted with clinical assessments, mass physical days, and data entry. Attended health fairs to promote brain health and sports concussion awareness, especially in younger athletes. Liaison for communication between UCLA Club Sports Athletes and study recruitment.
Gained insight in the field of clinical research from the importance of grant writing to meticulously collecting data.
UNIFIED INTRAMURAL SPORTS PARTNER
Volunteered in partnership events between Southern California Special Olympics and UCLA Special Olympics to foster a supportive intramural experience for college students and athletes. Responsibilities included supporting special olympics athletes before and during the games.
ACOSTA SPORTS MEDICINE INTERNSHIP
Assisted NCAA Division I Athletic Trainers across all teams as an intern. Managed the athletic facilities, while learning modalities and rehabilitation methods for student athletes. Worked front desk for in-clinic doctor appointments. Attended games and practices and supported student interns.
TOUGH MUDDER FIRST RESPONDER
Ensured a safe environment for participants at the Everest obstacle, while providing encouragement. Communicated with EMS personnel in cases where medical attention was necessary. Worked as a part of a larger team of first responders to ensure the safety of the competitors.
Student lifeguard at MAST Academy. Was in junior water safety and water safety classes which allowed me to become red cross certified in junior lifeguarding and lifeguarding, respectively. Used this certification to volunteer as a lifeguard at school events to gain community service hours.
